Detox your Mind

And it is as good as it sounds! All to often we go on quick detox’s for our bodies, 1, 2 or 3 day juice cleanses, lean protein & greens, cut carbs, (hopefully not) The lemon detox etc, especially after the festive season or when we are feeling a bit blahhh (sorry no other expletive word).

What about our MINDS?? When was the last time you detoxed your Mind? Or trained your Mind? Did you pick up an educational, inspirational book this morning and start your day with creative, intelligent thinking???

When we are feeling like it’s all getting a bit too much (my current state, I need an organisation fairy asap, Applications for a Social Media Superstar here ), when we hold onto the past, lost love, situations or create anxiety in the present moment, when we feel the weight of the world is on our shoulders.

When your just not feeling IT.

This is a sign you need to detox your mind.

I am so passionate about training our mind as we train our bodies. EVERY single day we go to the gym, sometimes twice, to train our muscles to feel better and lets be honest, most the time to enhance our aesthetic looks to be more attractive.

How often do you train your mind? Surely this is just as important. EVERY day, if not twice a day. To be truly beautiful is an inside job, no amount of plumping, fake eyelashes or muscles will ever be the same beauty as a beautiful heart and mind.

Train your mind to see the good in every situation. To be an opportunity seeker rather than problem maker. To be a beautiful person comes from your mind… being calm in moments of stress. To always give more than you get. To truly believe that when you change your thoughts you can change the world around you.

TRAIN your Mind.

But first, detox your mind from all that baggage your holding onto. So what the engagement didnt work out as it should have, so what if you’ve lost friends, so what if the career you wanted just seems a little to far out of reach. (geez its no wonder we feel like were carrying the weight of the world on our houlders, were carrying our whole lives). These things really dont matter. What matters is NOW. Your life, right now. In this moment.

Think about it, think about all the beauty you have (even though I know sometimes it can feel like there’s not a lot at all), take a moment to appreciate. To cultivate gratitude for the love you do have in your life, for the very fact that is a new day and you can chose to be the person you want to be.

Weight Loss, Money & Happiness 5 Ways To Make It Happen

How are those New Year resolutions going? On point or failing miserably?

Me… Hmm, I would say Im doing ok (every day just trying to be better), this giving 200% effort in business means I am only just making it to the gym, and falling into bed at night completely exhausted. Im actually having dreams, which I havent for a long time meaning I am getting into the deepest REM stage of sleep…and mentally I’m just giving myself a break; I am ok, exactly as I am, I dont need to diet, I can just be, just me. Currently rocking hair that badly needs to be done (#timepoor), some icky cellulite on my thighs (thanks to that eat drink and be merry season), and in desperate need/orwant of new everything (thanks to my business that requires fund investment alllll the time 😉 but I AM OK. Right now. Oh that sense of relief #priceless.


Allowing myself time to balance and organise my new work ethic and operations. And I also have to say; taste testing for Clean Treats is an occupational hazard (I actually have mentioned this in my recent interviews for staff), I’m about to release some #amazing new products, did some say PRO muffins? (I wonder what they could be 😉

BUT. In all honesty, it still helps to be held accountable, to have a plan, to have a source of inspiration. Chris Dufey is that for me. Although I am unsure how much longer he will tolerate my ‘all my energy is on my business’ excuses, because really, I am my brand and business also!

I will say, I have been utilising my morning movement with audio books…we MUST train our minds as we train our bodies, and taking time to meditate every day. If I have 30 minutes Ill do a 20 minute meditation, if I have 45 minutes, Ill do a 30 minute walk, and 5-10 minute meditation on the beach…Im not feeling compelled or that I HAVE to do either, but I KNOW for a fact that when I take this ‘me’ time every morning, my day is productive, focused, on form (#kickinggoals), this makes me WANT to do it.

Weight Loss, Money & Happiness 5 Ways To Make It Happen

Overcome and break through what’s holding you back and achieve whatever you want; whether it’s a six-pack, a flat stomach, a certain body shape, or even a certain amount of income or happiness. This is what I’m going to show you through five simple steps to follow.

What is that invisible barrier that’s holding you back? That certain je ne sais quoi that’s just stopping you from making the actions or getting the achievements that you really want. With myself being a physique coach, business coach and entrepreneur myself, I’ve been able to see the patterns in others and also what I’ve done wrong before. And let me take you through so you can fast track your own success.

‘You have the ability to chose which way you want to go. You have to believe great things are going to happen in your life. Do everything you can – prepare, pray, and achieve – to make it happen.’ Benjamin Carson

First off, this one isn’t sexy. It’s probably even not what you want to hear. But the truth is, you have to take 100% responsibility for your actions and for your successes including your failures. But hold up, what is failure? What really is the worst case outcome that can come from failing? And to me, failing is just giving up at the end of the day. Because realistically, what you need to be doing is getting back on your feet and getting on with the job. We all get hit down. We all take wrong steps along the way. But it’s the experience and being able to use those to take the next best steps along with your journey. So how does this relate to you getting in great shape? Firstly, it’s the environment that you’re in, the people that surround yourself with.


If you have friends and family that are giving you those snile little remarks, that are eating into you, planting those seeds of doubt. You might be sitting there and they’re going to be saying, “Why do you need to diet? Why do you need to lose weight? Why don’t you just have some chocolate?” These little things will grow when you spend more time around them. They can be hurting you from getting to the body that you want. Another important factor is your environment. For one example, if you think you’re going to give in to temptation and have that chocolate, dip your hand in the cookie jar, then get rid of it. Take it out of the house and remove what’s going to cause you from not being able to get the physique and the health that you really want. Spend time with people that are better than you, people that are going to uplift you and bring around positivity.

I love being around people that are better than me because realistically, I’m not that great at so many things. And by being around people that are succeeding at the things that I want to succeed at, I learned from them the quickest steps that I can take. I can model their actions all the way to where I want. Fourth point, commit to the process. You need to be chipping away, taking small steps each and every day. You might not find that you think that you’re making a large amount of progress but when you look back over time, you’ve succeeded and you got what you want.


And the fifth point, being one that I think might be the most important is clarity. Do you know what you really want? If your goal is vague, then you’re not going to be driven to actually making it happen. If it’s “I want to lose weight”, then I don’t think you really know what you want. Maybe it’s you need to be more specific and you know when you need to be able to achieve that goal by, then you can work all the way to make it happen. So to wrap it into a nutshell, you need to: One, take responsibility for what you’re doing. You and you alone are responsible for the actions and success that you have. Two, surround yourself with great exceptional people that are going to give you positivity and help you along the way. And third, you need to put yourself in the right environment. You need to make sure that you set yourself up for automatic success. Fourth point, you need to commit to the process.

Make sure you follow through each and every day, not giving yourself any justification to make the wrong steps. And five, have clarity. Know exactly what you want to have laser focus to make it happen. I want you to have success. Because if I know you have success, then you’re able to help more people; and that’s exactly what I want to do myself. Self Love Sunday; Giving myself a break.

I don’t normally post these types of pictures but today I’m posting this with you to be real.real1


Everyday I struggle with my weight. Even though I am in the fitness and health industry and offer coaching to clients myself, I’ve been having major issues with my weight for the last year, specifically since I started working for myself {an excuse perhaps?}

I am not lean. I am no longer a size 6. I wouldn’t dare be seen in a bikini and everyday I battle with myself about what I am doing and eating. I love to exercise, I know I am definitely addicted. Im fit, this is definitely true, I mean I ran 42km in 4.5hr with no training. Yet, I know this is not the best for my hormones and feel guilty when I ‘overtrain’.

I have digestive issues which mean I will never ever have a flat stomach and I use this as a oh well excuse.In fact I believe my mental weight issue started after intense testing, from doctors, naturopaths and specialists, all with no result, just wasted time, money and effort.

I am a sugar addict. As my days get busier and my mind has to be 110% active, prepared to create opportunities from problems, I crave energy.

Im an emotional and stress eater. I eat when I am feeling overwhelmed and lonely. As I work towards my BIG dreams my world is getting more lonelier, I find it difficult to connect with people and seek to be understood. The passion I have for my business is second to none, something I have never felt before. Something I am consumed with.

I struggle to prep meals then tend to get so busy I forget to eat and reach for a quick fix which leads into a binge eating episode because diet will always ‘start tomorrow’. {And I HATE the diet word!}

I’ve had numerous amazing professionals coach me with little results because I’m so stuck in my ways {I am currently working with Chris Dufey, the Physique pro who is really helping me, and has given me the results above so far #heputsupwithmycrazyself)
I see results then I self sabotage and beat myself up with guilt. Its like I internally believe that I cant have it all.
I am obsessed.
I will not date/see anyone for fear of being judged (also because I am so time poor I would rather invest my time into my business). I hatttte taking pictures because I know I won’t like what I see.

Why do I have to have it all? Why can’t I just be ok today? Eat healthier just for today? (This is the coaching I give to clients) yet I’ve lost my own way.


Comp days.

It’s not about self love or a lack of it. I am feeling stronger, more independent, focused and happy with who I am internally/mentally then ever before.
Everyday I torment my own self with thoughts about why I’m so obsessed with food, am I eating enough, not enough. ‘Why can’t I commit to the plans’. ‘I just want sugar’, ‘Ill be good tomorrow’, ‘what does he/she think of me’.
It’s these thoughts that are driving me crazy.
I can honestly say it’s been for the last year that I’ve tried (but can honestly say not really) to lose 5kg. ‘

Stating that when I do I’ll be happier, Ill be on my A game.


{110% commited to goals, last year}

What is wrong with me? I’m so fed up with feeling like I have to fit in. Feeling like I’m over weight because I’m not the size (6-8) I normally am. Feeling like no-one will ever love me because Im no glamour model.

So today’s self love Sunday is to give myself a break.

I’m over beating myself up. Ive had enough.

Instead I’m going to take 1 day as it comes. Im going to appreciate what I am building with my business, my brand and the person I am becoming.

I’m going to commit to meditating every day for the next 2 weeks before my 31st birthday (my 30th year has been the best in my entire life, except for my body issues) and I’m going to take time to organise myself so the feelings of being overwhelmed/stressed dont occur so often.

I’m a stress eater. Working for yourself is the biggest stress you’ll find. (also the best thing youll ever do)
I’m an emotional eater. I comfort eat. Because my world is so busy, there’s so many beautiful people in it, but not one that really knows me. I am a binge eater. Years of ‘diet’ mentally have created the ‘oh well, Ive ruined my eating for today, diet can start tomorrow’.

My digestive issues are malabsorption, slow transit and I do not sense being full. This means that I just don’t know when I’ve had enough until it’s disgustingly to late & I feel sick.

My favourite food in the whole world is muesli/bars etc so lol I’ve built a business’s around it. (why oh why would I be so silly! lol 😉  It’s like an alcoholic having a wine company and every day I taste test my product which is absolute torture. Because I’m an all or nothing personality. Thats just me.

This is about being real. I am trying, although not 100% and I just want to give myself a break.
I read alot of books, and they say we only have a certain amount of willpower. I even read that many successful business men and women wear the same thing everyday so they dont have to use any thoughts or energy on what to wear…and we all know how hard that morning wardrobe struggle is.

More than what I have is being used on building my business and what’s left is used for my fitness, which isnt a whole lot.

Today, I want to practice patience with myself and make today a good day.

Monday Motivation; Kristie Marsh Fitness Model

Good Monday morning my beautiful readers!

Now, if you read my blog or follow any of my social media sites or even know me personally, you will know that I am all about sharing love, about being kind to other people & my business motto is in fact ‘help other people get what they want’ {Zig Ziglar quote}. Sometimes I am surprised when people are kind to me, before I have in fact met them or had a chance to wave my magic wand and make them fall in love with the person I have decided to be (and somehow convince them to support my beliefs & brands 😉

Kristie Marsh is one of those people. She has shown me kindness, love and support without even knowing me, without me asking for it. Wow. Isnt that the definition of true beauty? What if more people showed kindness without asking anything in return, but just to be a good human?

In seeking happiness for others, you find it for yourself.

So I thought Id share her with you today (plus she is my new-found body inspo)…

Charlie: You have created a rapidly growing personal training business; and your own profile as Kristie Marsh Fitness Model, in the fitness & health industry, what do you attribute this success to?

I have always been involved with the fitness industry I used to be a long distance runner. I used to do aerobic classes and have always had people asking me about my training diet and eventually how I got my body back after two children. So I attribute my success to being passionate about helping others but at the same time being open to other people’s opinions advice etc…

Charlie: When did you decide to you wanted to be involved in the health industry?

I decided that years ago but it was a matter at what capacity . Once Garry & I met and discovered he was a passionate as me it really enabled me to come into my own.

Charlie: When did you decide you wanted to work for yourself?

I always knew if I was going to train others it would be for my own business however I am loving the idea of working in a gym too as I’m starting to prep for my fitness competition and the gym is turning into a new love for me and has been for the last 6-7 months

How do you feel as an inspirational figure/mentor? I am very happy to be an inspiration as long as people realise it always a hard long road to get the body you desire. And being consistent. I’ve always been very competitive within myself to myself so I won’t ever give up.

Charlie: Has there been any challenges along your journey?

Of course. I went through a divorce years of being a single mum which is full of challenges. Ups and downs emotionally . But I kept on training.


Charlie: How do you maintain balance between your Career and personal health?

Hmmm good question . I only practice what I preach. All diet exercises etc I have trialled on myself do I know the outcomes for clients. Personally I tend to be all or nothing. And I’m all health fitness training. I don’t go out or drink. I’m pretty boring actually but I love my choice .

Charlie: What do you believe are the keys to success in business?

I believe this industry is saturated by PTs , bloggers anything fitness … So you need to have credentials behind you. Why would you take advice off someone who isn’t qualified? So key to success is education. Also I’m doing my first IFBB fitness comp to build respect amongst my peers & to show my clients how did discipline, goals and consistency can result In a body you can be proud of .

Charlie: What is your advice for anyone who has a dream?

If you have a dream be practical . And get yourself the appropriate education. Hard work will make the dream a reality.

The reason you are confused as what diet or workout to follow is because some people are shouting “do this” and then another mob are preaching the exact opposite.  leaving you in the middle not making any progress with your body — and it affecting your health.

It’s not that they are out “to get you”, its because some plans will work for some people, and other plans will work for other people.

But Here Is The Secret Sauce For Weight Loss

  1. Start with a plan that tailored to you and your situation.
  2. Have it work with you – as you and your metabolism changes, your diet and workouts need to.
  3. Have the guidance and support to keep you easily on track and not falling off the wagon like you have before.

Selecting a good weight loss diet to match your fitness goals can be tricky. Depending on what you are trying to achieve and what your body type is, some diets may be more effective than others. Before starting any sort of weight loss diet, always check with your doctor. They can not only clear you for it, but can help by giving suggestions and warnings that can guide you more successfully to your goal.


Starving yourself can backfire in the worst sort of way and make you body store everything coming in instead of burning it. You need to slowly scale back your intake and eat meaningful calories. Increasing your activity and burning more calories with a sensible diet is a good way to slowly loose weight and keep it off.When You’ve Lost Most OF The Weight, But Are Stuck.

…Stubborn Fat

One thing most people run into with a weight loss diet is an plateau or two. You’ve stepped up your routine, maybe even trimmed a little more from the calories but nothing seems to be budging.

To avoid the non-sense, I’m not going to blow smoke and tell you there a ‘magic potion’.  The only potion you need 95% of the time is to stay committed to yourself and keep working hard.  Fat will start coming off from certain areas over your body than others.

If you are having an issue with stubborn fat, you may need to first adjust your workout, and then reconsider your diet. Adding in fat burning herbs and spices can help kick up if your metabolism has started to drag for some reason. Peppers, such as cayenne, are great for helping boost your fat burning. Black pepper in particular has a unique chemical in it that can help you loose weight as well. There are a lot more herbs and spices that have natural fat fighting compounds, many Indian spices such as turmeric and cumin, for example are helpful as well.


This is truthfully only going to be minuscule changes – for a Fitness Model or Bodybuilder, these small changes when at low body fat levels will make a difference, but don’t go down the “Fat Burning Pill” avenue — its not needed.

  •  Protein at every meal

Each meal should include a protein source.  it can be an animal meat such as beef, chicken, turkey, fish, kangaroo or venison.  Also whey protein, brown rice or pea protein powder and eggs are great choices.

  •  Include your all you can eat carbs in every meal

This list are the carbs you can go to town and fill up on.  Add as much as you want and get variety to your meals.

Asparagus, bean sprouts, capsicum, bok choy, broccoli, brusel spouts, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, eggplant, garlic, green beans, kale, leek, lettuce, mushroom, onion, radish, snow peas, spinach, tomato, zucchini and watercress.

  •  Drink 3L of water

Clean, filtered water is a must for your body.  It flushes toxins, hydrates your mush needed cells for multiple purposes.

You know you should be drinking more water, but you probably struggle.  I recommend you have a BPA free water bottle on you the whole day so it becomes a habit for you to easily sip on.

Use your starchy carbs and carb powders if you use them for post training.

Yes, there are other times in the day that you can eat carbs, but the rule of thumb to at least start from, is to have them after your weight training.

  •  Sleep 7-9 QUALITY hours

Stirring, waking and flicking through your Facebook in the middle of night will damage and slow your fat loss.

Let your body rest, recover and catch the much needed Zzzz so you can dominate another day.

‘Often I seek out individuals or companies to share with you for these Friday Night In posts. But last year Charlie found me. We spoke on and off for a while and she kindly featured me on her site. Ever since that first communication I have always been so intrigued by Charlie. She has such a tenacity and spice for life. A drive you don’t often see, and kind hearted spirit thats hard to come by. We both have crazy busy schedules but I caught up with Charlie recently as I knew she needed to be on the blog! As one of her main gigs, Charlie has created Clean Treats. Im the creator of Clean Treats aka #charliesballs, a health coach and speaker. A love sharer. A dreamer. An inspired soul. What would your job title be?

Director Clean Treats. Health Coach. Author. Speaker.

How did your business come about?

Clean Treats aka #charliesballs kind of just happened. I previously made treats for the seminars I would hold as a way to show my clients that healthy food could be delish. Now, 6 months later I have 60 stockists nationwide, and BIG dreams. I also host seminars in high schools and work with Beautiful Minds teenage events.


The most rewarding part of your job? Speaking. Educating. Holding someones hand in their time of need. Life isnt always easy and to inspire someone to believe they can create change, to be more, fills my heart with love.

To know that when someone chooses a #charliesball instead of a chemical/preservative based product…I believe these small actions can make a healthy change.

What haven’t you done yet that you wish you could?

Im unsure. Everything is exactly as it should be, hopefully soon Ill be releasing the next stage for Clean Treats which Im SO excited about.

Perhaps, jump out of a plane, but Im scared of heights.

Self Love Sunday, my non negotiable date.

We are getting busy. This we all know. Its nearly an automatic response when people ask how we are? Answer; busy. Almost as if being busy is a sign of success. But when is your busyness…too much?

Self Love Sunday. I will write about it & speak about it to anyone who will read/listen to me. I cannot begin to stress how important it is to just take a time out, for yourself.

You are the CEO of your life. A self love Sunday date with yourself is like taking a weekly meeting to review, analyse, gain clarity, organise and plan how to proceed with that dream chasing you’re doing.

Last week, I missed this (I was at the Fitness Expo all weekend with my #balls), and I could definitely tell I felt ‘off’ on Sunday night, but also through this week.

Rest is as important as everything else you do. Sometimes we get so caught up in ‘destination success’ {we think we wont feel successful or happy until we attain certain goals}, that we forget to realise that most of the time were crazy busy…we are actually unproductive, and we miss the happiness that can be found in this very moment.

Have you ever found yourself creating a whirlwind of things to do, stress, drama? Yet nothing really seems to be done? This is being unproductive.

I know for myself, and I would recommend you try it, my date with myself is time for me to just chill, to check in with my core beliefs, my passion, my purpose. Without this downtime, I would be just racing towards my BIG dreams, feeling pressured and stressed, without realising & appreciating the beautiful journey that I am on, including those highs and lows {& there’s many of those, daily when your trying to create your own business and brand}.

You dont even have to do anything. In fact this is one of my favourite dates… I book in time to DO NOTHING. And honestly it feels as good as those big deals and accomplishments feel.


When was the last time you just did nothing?

Perhaps enjoyed a herbal tea {or wine} and just sat still? Sat underneath the stars and just star gazed?

This is my challenge to you…make a date with yourself, you; the CEO, the one who is responsible for all the decisions you make in your life, the one who gets to choose what type of life you will live, the one is the most important of all. Do something {or nothing} that you just love to do.

Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.

This week I went art shopping, its been forever since I’ve picked up pencils and drawn, but I remember when I was younger this was actually one of my ‘self calm’ techniques (without realising it), drawing was my escape {I can actually draw more than a few squiggles, but painting, well…this is more stressful to me than a corporate meeting with the CEO of a massive food store}.


Just try it.

You are number 1 in your life. Your mental health is just (if not more) important than your physical health, yet we invest hrs every day working out our bodies. What are you doing to workout your mind?

Introducing, Fitness Pro… Chris Dufey

As you may be aware…I am addicted to sugar, of the natural kind; Fructose.

Fructose is still sugar. In high amounts this will create stress on your hormones, glycation in your organs and skin and make you insulin sensitive.

Not something I really want. Now, as much as I know and research, sometimes you just need someone to guide you and hold your hand. For this reason I put out a little SMS {save my soul, you have no idea how much this addiction was taking over me, leaving me feeling flat, overweight, puffy and depressed}. Chris Dufey answered. I couldnt believe my luck.

I have attended Chris’s seminars before and listened to his approach to a healthy lifestyle, and I was impressed. So, this week I started his 12 week program. Not just about the 5kgs I want to lose to be at my optimal health, but to balance my hormones.

This is how it goes; healthy eating/restricted calories/incorrect meal timing… over training, 3 hrs per day minimum. Get stressed, binge (on my healthy products) and then ‘punish’ myself in the gym. Balanced hormones? I think not. I also ‘binge’ eat when feeling emotional, stressed, and when things get ‘too good’ for me, also known as self sabotage.
