Self Love Sunday; Invest in yourself

Business is a funny thing, each day you can experience those on top of the world feelings, then the every next moment feel like your struggling to doggy paddle your way to shore, …or some form of safety, sometimes just trying to breathe (not that there is ever safety in business).

Change is good. It’s also often hard. But to succeed in business, you must run toward it.

For this reason, and as I am making the big leaps to make my business something  real, I decided to invest in a Business Coach. An investment that I felt was priceless.

While I know a bit about business from 10 years as a BDM {Business Development Manager} for leading companies in their respective fields, and managing…its a different world when you’re in your own business. Im currently re-reading the E myth…making the change from a toddler to adolescent business can be scary (and it is!). The most difficult issue being that while once you were everything in your business; the technician, the manager, the entrepreneur, the accountant, the dreamer, the marketing pro, the delivery man, the social media guru and every single thing in between, making the jump to potentially being a BIG business means your taking a leap of faith…not knowing what will happen but only knowing & trusting where you are going.

These are the things I am currently changing in my business world that will ultimately (I believe) progress me towards my BIG dream reality, my vision of making a healthy change in the world.

‘Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new.’ Brian Tracey

*Staff….because I can’t keep doing everything, everyday. Now if you don’t know, this itself is a huge investment of time, the interviewing process…I wish I could have some type of lie detector test (I guess this is really only a test of my intuition), people know how to interview today, and your basically opening your heart and soul that you’ve made a business to other people. It’s imeperative they have the passion and drive that you do. For me, one of the Clean Treats values is INTEGRITY. Ad let’s be 200% honest, no one will ever love your business like you do…so honestly…. I am scared.

‘A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. You must break out of your comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown.’ Denis Waitley

In taking team members on board this also means; contracts, systems, policies and procedure manuals (that I dont have)…structure (that I also dont have a lot of).

NEW PACKAGING…as I write this on a Sunday, I underestimated how much work this would be. The risk…the pressure to get it right (I am also a perfectionist), and really just the need to have it now. Working with designers (this hasnt been my best experience) and printers, trying to make the decisions that will either mean success or failure (even though you can never fail if you dont quit), I should probably say the difference between right and wrong. And theres so many aspects to this. The legalities, the testing of the product, food regulations, display, appeal, marketing…..

As you move outside of your comfort zone, what was once the unknown and frightening becomes your new normal.’ Robin S. Sharma

New Websites for both The Clean Treats Factory & my personal brand.

Ebook & Healthcoaching (I need to focus on this as helping people is my passion).

Secret projects… I cant write too much here, but these are completely new opportunities created with a thought… #collabmagic.

*Inhouse Accountant…its time for me not to waste anytime doing what I can average do and have a pro do what they professionally can.

So with all of the above, and some things being a lot more difficult than I imagined, it was only natural that I had a few tears when meeting with my Business Coach this week… her perfect words to me (and said excitedly) … your out of your comfort zone, this is where the magic happens.

‘Im continually trying to make choices that put me against my comfort zone. As long as your uncomfortable, it means your growing.’ Ashton Kutcher

Im SO uncomfortable right now. Her (I’m using Alison Morgan from The Relauncher ) words were a perfect realisation for me. Spoken at the right time, in a little moment of self doubt & pressure. This is exactly the reason I chose to work with her.

A business coach is someone that might have more experience in an industry than you, it might be someone who has more experience with wealth creation, or it could be someone who inspires you… for me, Alison was this.

She gives me homework, so I can’t be ‘to busy’ not to do some of the things I need to do, she lets me know that everything is going to be ok when I feel overwhelmed and out of control, she helps me get all the crazy thoughts that consume out onto paper and helps me make a plan. So instead of doing everything I can until I burn out, we make a strategic plan and timeline so I know whats happening and when and can pause for a moment to catch my breath. I just feel like she has my back.

You see getting a business coach, isnt admitting your bad at business, but it’s reaching out for help and making an investment in your self and your business because you might be too far in to look perspectively at all the wonder you’re creating (perhaps even the mess you are making). Just like you get a personal trainer for your body, a business coach is an investment you are making in your business, in your desire to be more, to grow and develop, and personally I dont have the business skills I know I will require to take my business where I want it to be. So in the terms of Henry Ford (he was a great man who knew nothing about his industry), build a team around you of people who are experts at what they do, so you can be an expert in what you do (me…Im the dreamer, the lover, the idealist)

‘Adaptability is about the powerful difference between adapting to cope and adapting to win.’ Max McKeown

Another thing…its kind of like a health coach, your basically paying for someone to hold your hand, and when you don’t have a world of business minded people/family/husband/lover, or financial support behind you…that alone is more than priceless.

Love & light, Charlie x.

{look her up, Alison also does skype coaching and I highly recommend her)

Blessed {thank you}

Its taken me a few days to get time to sit down and write this.

Firstly, a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped me with my crowdfunding campaign… it was a SUCCESS!  & I cannot even begin to describe how grateful I am to you. Words cannot portray the love & gratitude I feel in my heart.

‘Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.’ Harriet Tubman

The truth is, it was a big risk {and scary as hell}, to put myself and my brand out there and just say ‘hey, I need your help’.

As mush as we say its ok to ask for help, how often do we? Yet instead most of us chose to act strong & like everything is perfect with our rose tinted glasses on.

I can honestly say, something had to change for me. This made my decision about the launching the campaign. I couldnt keep doing the little things I was doing, working harder not smarter and making slow progress (yes, progress is still progress). But I knew I was close to burn out.

‘Oh, I was never a businessman. I was a visionary, a dreamer.’ Jim Bakker

With my business, its never had a $ of investment, instead it was created from a need to pay my own living costs and grow itself. & truth be told I love this about my story. I dont even have a credit card so I can instead chose to grow organically. Now, this is great & all, but it can also mean that growth may be slower, or in my case I was struggling to keep up with the growth & needs of my clients (more so on a time limit).

‘I think of myself not just as a dreamer, but as a dream chaser’. Sarah Brightman

So because of you, & my leap of faith, today Im sending of the brand new packaging to China for my first sample…

New packaging front

What do you think? {The Muscle Ball range is Mint Green & the display box is Kraft cardboard}

You see, what you have done, by showing me love, pre ordering & sharing my campaign, is restore my faith (that was getting a little tired from hrs of exhausting myself & Adrenal Fatigue) that I am exactly where I need to be, doing exactly what I should be doing (my recent Angel reading also said this). Youve shown me that there is a need for a product like mine (1 year of business also shows this), and that together, we, the people can make a change. This is EXCITING.

You know just the other day I read an article that McDonalds is losing money… This is success. WE can create a change by learning to love ourselves and  make healthy changes. By learning to listen to our bodies. Instead of focusing on the things you dont like, focus on the things you do and all the good you are blessed with.

Because of the campaign success, I also decided its time to STEP up my game, and my own health so I can be the very best I can be. No more excuses. No more mistreatment of my body (too much sugar, not enough self love). Its time to honour the beautiful body I was created with & give it everything it needs to give me what I need. You eat well, you feel well…such a good circle.

For me, & for my business, but for you. Anyone that takes the time to read my blogs and share my journey with me.

Because I have BIG dreams & I believe in them with every essence of my being. YOU have given me a new opportunity to shine (I CANNOT WAIT TO RELEASE THE NEW PRODUCT).

And Im doing the work. So many people say they want to do their own thing, but their not prepared to do the work. Not prepared to get up an hr earlier, go to bed an hr later, say no to social engagements & commit themselves fully to their dream.

I am. The next 3 months I have given myself to do everything I can to bring a better & improved product & company to you. Regardless of the weekends missed, I know what Im running towards, the dreams that are becoming my reality. Im prepared to go without do my business can go with.

Can you see yours? Do you know where your going? What are you running towards???

Its so easy to get confused & off track, I mean theres so much competition out there & entrepreneurship isnt easy. But if you believe, even 2 steps forward, 1 step back…sideways or upside down…it doesnt matter. Your headed in the right direction. Trust, faith & believe in yourself always.

‘There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.’ Colin Powell

My current frame of mind is taking from one of the greatest businessmen in history; Henry Ford, who knew nothing about the Steel industry but built a team around him of people who were experts with what they knew so he could do what he did best. And its a pretty special place to be, to be able to have a business coach (who makes me do homework & get out of my own mind), a graphic designer to bring a professional product to you, a lawyer to get everything that needs to be done, done, an accountant to look after all my figures, an intern to do the little things and today interviewing staff for the kitchen, so I can do what I love doing & do best… including writing, coaching & being the dreamer I am.

‘Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.’ Gail Devers

I am blessed & grateful. Thank you.

Love & light, Charlie x.

Because together, we can make a change in the world.

Honouring your temple {Self Love Series Pt 2}

Series 2 is focused on our relationship with food and how we nourish our bodies. It’s just as much a physiological process as it is a psychological choice. One of the phrases that resonated with me was ‘drink your food, eat your drink’ which of course centers itself on the importance of chewing your meals properly and aiding digestion. When drinking water, slowing down and sipping it is far more hydrating than gulping it down.

When I hear Tabitha’s take on ‘diet labels’, such as vegan, vegetarian, paleo etc. I feel rather relieved. Her take on them is rather pragmatic but absolutely makes sense – the philosophy is eating nourishing meals that our body responds well to. “Diet trends disconnect us from our real requirements”. It’s all about listening to your body and talking to yourself before you open the fridge, double take, yes, talk to yourself before opening the fridge! What do you say before opening the fridge dare you ask? “What does my body need”? Says Tabitha.

I cheekily questioned Tabitha on this, “what if my body wants chocolate”? “Well, I don’t call chocolate bad and frankly, maybe your body needs chocolate” OK, I am totally in – and I knew she will most definitely explain my craving so it makes 100% sense.

“Did you know that your body might be deficient in magnesium or iron if you crave chocolate?” Naturopaths are so insightful! A spoon full of pure cacao or a piece of dark chocolate can deliver not only the goodness of antioxidants but also promote happy vibes… You had me at chocolate but happy is my quest at present. The collaboration of food and self-love is genius.

Appreciating food for its nourishing properties, admiring the texture, colour, smell and of course taste are all-important parts of our relationship with food. It can only be healthy if it’s honoured for taking care of our temples.

Think back to the water theory by Masaru Emoto where he studied the changes in the molecular structure of water when exposed to different elements even words. Positive words and environments kept the beautiful crystalised structure but derogative words and harsh noises polluted the water.

I just adore the fact we can use positive mantras to help improve how we build a healthy relationship with our decisions… just a few examples to start:

♥ I allow the healing power in my body to manifest perfect health

♥ I, myself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve my own love and affection

♥ I take care of my body, my home, my workplace, and all areas of my life. I alone am responsible for my health.

LOUISE HAY is the author of these mantras and someone I look up to and follow. Author of ‘You can Heal your Life’, she has a wellness mantra for absolutely anything. A simple Google search will find you countless videos and material – you won’t regret it.

The evening was literally ‘packed to the brim’ with useful information; the audience getting curious with some great questions and the networking session afterwards saw some new introductions enriching the evening even further.

A meticulously organised event with talent of the likes of Annthea Matheson from Young Living who explained the power of essential oils so beautifully; Charlie de Haas who is even more amazing in person than we could’ve ever imagined her to be – you are such a star! Your energy is infectious and your treats to ‘die for’…

To sum up the night – delicious, enlightening, beautiful, heartfelt, fun, WOW – and completely BALANCED with advice. Exactly the way we view our food from now on!

Love and Sunshine,

Andrea and Jarka

So, so beautiful. I actually just got this today and I am so grateful for the gorgeous words about me.

Love & light, Charlie x.

Craving chocolate…or magnesium…

Detox your Mind

And it is as good as it sounds! All to often we go on quick detox’s for our bodies, 1, 2 or 3 day juice cleanses, lean protein & greens, cut carbs, (hopefully not) The lemon detox etc, especially after the festive season or when we are feeling a bit blahhh (sorry no other expletive word).

What about our MINDS?? When was the last time you detoxed your Mind? Or trained your Mind? Did you pick up an educational, inspirational book this morning and start your day with creative, intelligent thinking???

” Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve” Napoleon Hill

When we are feeling like it’s all getting a bit too much (my current state, I need an organisation fairy asap, Applications for a Social Media Superstar here ), when we hold onto the past, lost love, situations or create anxiety in the present moment, when we feel the weight of the world is on our shoulders.

When your just not feeling IT.

This is a sign you need to detox your mind.

I am so passionate about training our mind as we train our bodies. EVERY single day we go to the gym, sometimes twice, to train our muscles to feel better and lets be honest, most the time to enhance our aesthetic looks to be more attractive.

How often do you train your mind? Surely this is just as important. EVERY day, if not twice a day. To be truly beautiful is an inside job, no amount of plumping, fake eyelashes or muscles will ever be the same beauty as a beautiful heart and mind.

Train your mind to see the good in every situation. To be an opportunity seeker rather than problem maker. To be a beautiful person comes from your mind… being calm in moments of stress. To always give more than you get. To truly believe that when you change your thoughts you can change the world around you.

TRAIN your Mind.

But first, detox your mind from all that baggage your holding onto. So what the engagement didnt work out as it should have, so what if you’ve lost friends, so what if the career you wanted just seems a little to far out of reach. (geez its no wonder we feel like were carrying the weight of the world on our houlders, were carrying our whole lives). These things really dont matter. What matters is NOW. Your life, right now. In this moment.

Think about it, think about all the beauty you have (even though I know sometimes it can feel like there’s not a lot at all), take a moment to appreciate. To cultivate gratitude for the love you do have in your life, for the very fact that is a new day and you can chose to be the person you want to be.

‘This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.’ Dalai Lama

{Monday Motivation} Cassie Mendoza-Jones; Elevate Vitality

There is nothing better than attending a seminar & feeling the speakers words resonate with you. When you hear the exact same message {choose self love, & learn to listen to your body} you are trying to convey be heard through the words she speaks, it creates a tingle of passion knowing that together we can make a change.

Cassie Mendoza-Jones is one of these such women. A Kinesiologist, Naturopath, Nutritionist and Herbalist, Cassie has recently released an Ebook for “Body Harmony Society”. The ebook focuses on The ebook focuses on “12 lessons to help you (finally) find freedom in your own skin’, broken into 3 lessons;

1. Body-Doing
2. Mind- Being
3. Spirit- Knowing

Cassie Mendoza-Jones 2

You have created the Body Harmony Society, what was the reason behind this?

I founded my business, Elevate Vitality, and I have launched the Body Harmony Society as the flagship online resource for helping women find freedom + harmony in their bodies, their lives and their business.

The Body Harmony Society is an online space for women who are tired of hating their bodies, who feel trapped in old patterns of negativity and worthlessness, who feel exhausted, drained and overwhelmed, who panic, stress and worry about everything, and who generally don’t feel safe or ‘at home’ in their skin.

On the surface? It’s about upgrading your health and your life.

But really? It’s about accepting yourself on every level. And feeling really proud of yourself for doing so.

I made it because it breaks my heart when I see women feeling so stuck, so less than, so lost.

I made it because I remember feeling so disconnected to myself, so overwhelmed, so sad and flat and tired.

I made it because I’m tired of seeing women (and dudes too) worry about their bodies.

I made it because I feel your pain when you stress and fret and anguish over how you look instead of celebrate who you are.

And ultimately… I want to help

‘Find the love you seek, by first finding the love within yourself. Learn to rest in that place within you that is your true home.’ Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

When did you decide to you wanted to be involved in the health & wellness industry?

I was working as a hair and makeup artist in the fashion and beauty industry, and I found myself always speaking to the models about their nutrition and health. I was drawn to natural medicine, so I made the switch several years ago and I’m so glad I did!

How do you feel as an inspirational figure/mentor?

I never set out to be an inspiration figure or mentor, I just want to help women find body harmony and help them feel balance, aligned and calm in their bodies and their lives.

I love what I do, so it feels easy and enjoyable and important to spread this message.

Has there been any challenges along your journey?

Of course; it wouldn’t be a journey if there weren’t challenges.

But the challenges have made me stronger. They helped me clarify my vision and my strengths, and show me where I had to improve and focus.

‘Your task is not to seek for Love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ‘ Rumi, thirteenth century Sufi poet

How do you maintain balance between your Career and personal health?

I make sure to start my day with exercise and some ‘me’ time – whether that’s writing in a café for a few hours, going for a walk and breakfast with a friend, journaling or meditating.

I watch my energy levels closely and I make sure to pull back before I burn out. I give myself whole days off, and block out time to just write and do some content creation so I’m not cramming too much into my days.

My business is based around self-care and educating my clients on how to not burnout, so I make self-care a priority as it’s important I lead by example.

‘To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself. ‘~Thich Nhat Hanh

What do you believe are the keys to success in business

‘Above all, be true to yourself, and if you cannot put your heart in it, take yourself out of it.’ Unknown

I think this depends on every business, but I think some keys are:

  1. Clarify what your dream is, as opposed to other people’s dreams
  2.  Stick it out through the harder times, knowing that this too shall pass. This is easier when you can see the bigger picture
  3. Give yourself plenty of time outside of your business – this is often when the big, beautiful ideas will come
  4. Invest in yourself and your business – i.e.  spend time on your business and not just in it. You sometimes need to spend money to make money
  5. Find a group of people who get you when it comes to business, and bounce ideas off them. It’s important to have support from fellow business owners or entrepreneurs
  6. Find a mentor or mentors, and work out which traits of theirs you resonate with and want to emulate in your own business

What is your advice for anyone who has a dream?

Chase it.

Follow it.

Make it happen.

Make it beautiful.

Are you prepared to sacrifice for success?

How badly do you want it?
A question you have to ask yourself when you are chasing your dream.

A question I ask myself daily. Especially when it can all seem to much, I find its important to step back and think about why I am doing what I am doing (to create a healthy change in the world), sit with myself to connect with my heart, my passion and trust that what is right for me will be.

What most people don’t understand is the sacrifices that are made by successful people to get to where they are today.

The hours of work.
The commitment.
The lack of social life.
The energy required to cultivate a constant ‘can do’ attitude.

Success does not just happen overnight. It requires work. Commitment. Focus. Out of the square thinking & ingenuity. An indomitable will to keep going. Passion. Purpose. Love.

Today, not the first of many, I’ll be working while the world around me is celebrating Melbourne Cup day.
Would I like to be in the sun sipping champagne, sure.

But I would like to be Director of a multimillion dollar business…more.

You have to decide what you want and then make decisions that will get you there.
If you read my words, you’ll know I’m a big believer in motivational speakers, positive affirmations, filling your mind up with them so much that there’s no space left for negative thoughts, self doubt, or fear. (I was actually told the other day that im like a walking quote book/motivational cd…quite funny).

‘You want something, go get it.’

How prepared are you to make sacrifices so that you can invest your time in making your dream reality?

How prepared are you to commit to your dream? To always find a yes when life/people may say no?

How prepared are you to keep going when the going gets tough?

‘Dont be afraid to fail, you can’t always win, but don’t be afraid of making decisions

You have to believe that something different can happen, he who says he can, and he who says he can’t are both usually right.

Most of you say you want to be successful but you don’t want it bad, you just kinda want it, you don’t want it badder than you want to party, you dont want it as much as you wanna be cool, most of you don’t want success as much as you want to sleep.’

When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you’ll be successful.

You have to be prepared to make sacrifices. Believe it or not, but I used to take great pride in my sense of fashion; classic but designer. Sass and Bide was a personal favourite. Now, I cannot even remember the last time I brought designer items, choosing Nike (and only if I’m lucky) and investing in my business first. Doing what i can with what i have, organic growth, new packaging, new clients, new products…these make me just as happy as those Sass and Bide purchases (actually probably more). *When my dream is real I will be spending some hrs and hard earned $$$ in there Im sure, but for now Im prepared to go without.

‘To sacrifice what you are for what you will become.

Talent you have naturally, skill is only developed with hrs and hrs of beating on your craft.

If you are not making someone elses life better tha youre wasting your time.’

I no longer spend my weekends in a night club, bumping and grinding with people who are drinking away their problems (because isn’t that what nights of drinking that turn into 5am mornings are? Drinking to escape reality?) *Dont get me wrong, I love a nice wine, or my latest favourite Coconut tequila, but these happen once every blue moon. My days are to valuable to waste hung over, my body to precious to torture with the dehydration, and no doubt fast food that’s normally consumed.

Every decision you make is a step towards your future. Is it a decision for a better you? Or is it a step backwards?

‘Who do you want to be? What it’s going to be, who youre going to be, how youre going to do it. Just decide.’

‘If you know what you’re worth, go out and get what your worth, but you got to be willing to take the hits and not point the finger and say you aint where you want to be because of him or her or anybody, cowards do that and that aint you. Youre better than that.

Because everyday is a new day, every moment is a new moment…Ima show you how great I am.’

So with that, and yes my writing is a way that I can share with you that yes I do struggle; some time in the sun, looking pretty, sipping champagne would definitely feel good. But I am committed to making my dream, my reality & honestly the thrill of my new project about to become real…absolutely nothing can beat.

Love & light, Charlie x.

Self Love Sunday, my non negotiable date.

We are getting busy. This we all know. Its nearly an automatic response when people ask how we are? Answer; busy. Almost as if being busy is a sign of success. But when is your busyness…too much?

‘Find the love you seek, by first finding the love within yourself. Learn to rest in that place within you that is your true home.’ Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Self Love Sunday. I will write about it & speak about it to anyone who will read/listen to me. I cannot begin to stress how important it is to just take a time out, for yourself.

You are the CEO of your life. A self love Sunday date with yourself is like taking a weekly meeting to review, analyse, gain clarity, organise and plan how to proceed with that dream chasing you’re doing.

‘You are very powerful, provided you know how powerful you are.’ Yogi Bhajan

Last week, I missed this (I was at the Fitness Expo all weekend with my #balls), and I could definitely tell I felt ‘off’ on Sunday night, but also through this week.

‘Most of the shadows of this life are caused by standing in one’s own sunshine.’ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Rest is as important as everything else you do. Sometimes we get so caught up in ‘destination success’ {we think we wont feel successful or happy until we attain certain goals}, that we forget to realise that most of the time were crazy busy…we are actually unproductive, and we miss the happiness that can be found in this very moment.

Have you ever found yourself creating a whirlwind of things to do, stress, drama? Yet nothing really seems to be done? This is being unproductive.

‘A loving person lives in a loving world. A hostile person lives in a hostile world. Everyone you meet is your mirror.’ Ken Keyes.

I know for myself, and I would recommend you try it, my date with myself is time for me to just chill, to check in with my core beliefs, my passion, my purpose. Without this downtime, I would be just racing towards my BIG dreams, feeling pressured and stressed, without realising & appreciating the beautiful journey that I am on, including those highs and lows {& there’s many of those, daily when your trying to create your own business and brand}.

You dont even have to do anything. In fact this is one of my favourite dates… I book in time to DO NOTHING. And honestly it feels as good as those big deals and accomplishments feel.

When was the last time you just did nothing?

Perhaps enjoyed a herbal tea {or wine} and just sat still? Sat underneath the stars and just star gazed?

This is my challenge to you…make a date with yourself, you; the CEO, the one who is responsible for all the decisions you make in your life, the one who gets to choose what type of life you will live, the one is the most important of all. Do something {or nothing} that you just love to do.

Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
’ Veronica A. Shoffstall

This week I went art shopping, its been forever since I’ve picked up pencils and drawn, but I remember when I was younger this was actually one of my ‘self calm’ techniques (without realising it), drawing was my escape {I can actually draw more than a few squiggles, but painting, well…this is more stressful to me than a corporate meeting with the CEO of a massive food store}.

Just try it.

You are number 1 in your life. Your mental health is just (if not more) important than your physical health, yet we invest hrs every day working out our bodies. What are you doing to workout your mind?

Let me know how you go.

Love & light, Charlie x.

P.s whatever you do, DO NOT make this meeting and then cancel it. Would you do that in real life to your boss? Husband? It is a non negotiable.

Introducing, Fitness Pro… Chris Dufey

As you may be aware…I am addicted to sugar, of the natural kind; Fructose.

Fructose is still sugar. In high amounts this will create stress on your hormones, glycation in your organs and skin and make you insulin sensitive.

Not something I really want. Now, as much as I know and research, sometimes you just need someone to guide you and hold your hand. For this reason I put out a little SMS {save my soul, you have no idea how much this addiction was taking over me, leaving me feeling flat, overweight, puffy and depressed}. Chris Dufey answered. I couldnt believe my luck.

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection” Buddha

I have attended Chris’s seminars before and listened to his approach to a healthy lifestyle, and I was impressed. So, this week I started his 12 week program. Not just about the 5kgs I want to lose to be at my optimal health, but to balance my hormones.

This is how it goes; healthy eating/restricted calories/incorrect meal timing… over training, 3 hrs per day minimum. Get stressed, binge (on my healthy products) and then ‘punish’ myself in the gym. Balanced hormones? I think not. I also ‘binge’ eat when feeling emotional, stressed, and when things get ‘too good’ for me, also known as self sabotage.

Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.  Lou Holtz

I am so excited to have his expert guidance, and once a week I will be sharing with you his healthy living tips so you to can create a healthy balance.

About Chris Dufey, The Fat Loss Pro:

110kgs, very overweight.
Shaped like a fridge.
Confidence is rock bottom, motivation is lackluster and getting through each day with not a lot of smiles.
Diet is poor, made up of junk, with the usual effort of trying to be better, that never leads to a slimmer, better body.
Training just leads to more frustration. There are no results being seen, and the mirror slaps back the bitter truth of his body.

Does any of this happen to you?

I hope not, but there is a happy side to this. This description is me, a few years ago.

I laugh so hard my stomach hurts when people say to me

“You’re so lucky to always be in shape, and have the right genetics”.

My bollocks I do. I don’t fall into bad habits because I know my body and health would take a quick turn backwards. I had to learn how to eat, train and live to get in great shape, stay in great shape, and then how to coach others to be in incredible shape.

The reason I feel so confident in being able to bring about results for you and others is not just because of the immense learning and education I put myself through. It’s because I have transformed myself along with many, many others.

You are unique, and need a different approach, tweak or variation to bring about the fat loss and body shaping you want. This is exactly why I made the two Online Physique Coaching levels so different, and the specific body changing products I make. It suits your wants, needs and goals. Giving you the amount of advice, and guidance that will actually work for you. Plus, fit the budget you have for transforming your body. It’s also the reason why I choose the coach for myself.

I know he has gone through it all before, is highly qualified and gives me exactly what I need. Everyone needs a coach and guidance. It goes for financial planning, business coaching even the dentist you choose.

You wouldn’t hire a broke financial advisor would you?

Then why still be unhappy with your body using a online personal trainer or doing it yourself that’s not getting you the results you want.

I am truly passionate on being able to transform the bodies of the people I work with, including you. And I am firmly against using many of the foolish methods and techniques that plague people wanting to get in shape.

I hope this has pepped you up and given hope. Because trust me, if I can go from a shockingly overweight, unhealthy dude, to a fitness model transforming bodies all over the world.

You sure as well can. And you can do for a bunch of reasons. One reason why you might want to listen to me is to get really hot, take a bunch of photos and post them on facebook.

Or to compete as a fitness model, win competitions, be asked for photos shoots with barely any clothes on to promote stuff.

It could even be so you attract a certain sexy someone, keep your husband or wife still drooling over you, never having to worry if their eyes will wonder.

The secret of getting ahead is getting started.  Mark Twain

In saying that, please be aware I am on the cleanse stage of my program…detoxing from sugar, so please be patient with me if I’m a little less full of sunshine 😉 And Im a little unsure what to do with this extra time I now have… {just when I needed more hrs in the day to develop The Clean Treats Factory…perfect!}

Feature; Charlie de Haas, the fifty two woman project.

I was recently honoured to be featured on Debbie Spellman’s website as 1 of her fifty women features.

Debbie is a personal source of inspiration to me, and I remember when I first met her, I could literally feel the love and compassion radiating out of her. Our green smoothie date turned into a deep heartfelt 2 hr chat about all things life and love, and creating a change in the world. Since then Ive worked beside her at speaking events and enjoyed watching her personal journey and business grow and develop.

Im never one to say Im perfect, in fact Im incredibly far from it. Im learning, everyday, to embrace my perfect imperfections, because they are mine. So I wanted to share this feature, and a little about me.

Charlie de Haas is one phenomenal woman! Not only is she one of the most beautiful souls I have ever met, I have watched her take an idea and concept and turn it into a powerhouse. Her Clean Treats product and ‘Charlie’s Balls’ brand are taking Sydney by storm and her vision for her empire is so admirable! This is one feature you will want to read. I love Charlie’s approach to life and I am so excited to share her techniques on how she manages herself. Once again she has demonstrated the power of The Fifty Two Women Project by sharing her vulnerabilities which many of us just don’t see behind what we perceive as a very successful women. I hope this feature inspires you to realise we are all the same and it’s simply how we choose to show up that makes the difference in who we are and our life circumstances.

{yes, I did feel beautifully emotional reading such gorgeous words from a woman I highly respect & value}

You are such an inspiration for women in all you have achieved in your business. Was there a time when you didn’t feel so confident in what you were doing and why?

Yes, there are many occasions when I feel doubt or unsure. I think this is the pure beauty of life and business and things will always happen that will make you question yourself, your decisions, and your goals. What’s important is to create your own Self-love tools to provide the right answers and cultivate a sense of self trust.

If something rocks my world, perhaps something didn’t work out the way I wanted it to, I now know to revisit my core beliefs, why I’m doing what I am doing, and trust that what is right for me will be.

Was there a defining moment when you decided to launch your business or did this develop and evolve over time?

I have been involved in health and wellness for the past ten years, always working for other people and changing constantly, I was always looking for more.

I then had a dream of inspiring people, of creating change in the world and started to research ways I could do this on my own. I then took the risk (self-employment), put everything I had into it, and created a deep core belief that I could do anything, and did it.

Living our passion – even one which stems from our truest hearts desires – can be daunting. What has been the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome in your mindset in order to live the life of your dreams?

Some people may not know, but I am very open about it, I suffer depression and BPD. I have a core belief that I will never be good enough (something I am in the process of working on). These have definitely held me back at times, yet I am also thankful for them. We each have our own story to tell, our own trials and tribulations, and it’s when you can accept them, realize them and create healthy habits to overcome them, that’s when you can truly fall in love with yourself and your life. Because there will always be the good and the bad, you will always have strengths and weaknesses. It’s about self-acceptance.

Debbie specialises in a technique know as The Mind Detox. Its about breaking free from those unhelpful core values and beliefs you have created somewhere in your life, to be able to realise your full potential and be the very best you can be.

Its about being your authentic self and realising that you are amazing, exactly as you are, and to stop holding yourself back.

I hope you enjoyed the feature.

Share love, be kind.

Happy all the time?

Just yesterday I was asked if I was genuinely happy ALL the time.

I thought it was a simple question to deeply contemplate.

The answer of course is no. No, I am not happy all the time. Whilst most of the time I do believe Im living in a different world (choosing to see positive, opportunities and beauty), I still hurt. A cruel word or action can definitely pop my bubble and bring me back down to earth, wondering where did I go wrong? Whats wrong with me…why cant I just seem to ‘make’ it, why will nobody love me?

{oh hello self doubt, self sabotage thoughts}.

The thing that I have found with happiness, is you must stop searching for it. Stop thinking; ‘When I get married’, ‘when I have a family’, ‘When I achieve my business goal turnover’… {you probably have your own ‘when I do this, then Ill be happy’}.

‘It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.’ Charles Spurgeon

The fact is happiness is yours right now, if you choose to see it, to feel it, and believe it.

Happiness is in the fact that you woke up this morning. For me, I woke up and exercised…happiness. I chose a clean egg white omelette with my espresso whilst I write this…happiness.

Happiness is the small moments that create our life. It is not, and will not ‘appear’ when you achieve your goals, in fact it will most likely remain just out of your grasp. Elusive.

We think happiness is something that means all our problems will dissappear…I promise you they wont. Everyday I genuinely feel a sense of contentment, passion and purpose course through my veins, but all day everyday…no. Its more a general state of wellbeing, of keeping a positive mind, of knowing that life will happen, challenges will arise, people will hurt you, {intentionally or not}…but everything willalways be ok.

Happiness; you can cultivate it. With an attitude of gratitude.

Stop right now, sit comfortably, focus on breathing deeply and create a thought of gratitude. What are you thankful for? It doesn’t have to be something huge, it can be something as simple as I am grateful for my health.’ ‘I am grateful I have a career, work to go to’, ‘I am grateful I woke up this morning.’

‘Be happy with what you have and are, be generous with both, and you wont have to hunt for happiness.’ William E. Gladstone

So simple. What we focus on grows.

I absolutely adore reading and whilst some self-help books are merely thoughts that cannot be applied into daily living, some contain powerful tools that teach you to challenge your thought process, which is naturally prone to negative thinking/self protection.

When I am feeling less than happy, {and that’s perfectly ok to, be at peace with your emotions} I use some of my own personal SOS {really should be Save my Soul, SMS} tools.

‘I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by pur circumstance but by our disposition.’ Martha Washington

1. Sit & just breathe.

Notice where and how you are breathing in times of distress; short and shallow. Just take a moment be still and breathe in for the count of 4, retain and then release for the same count, retain. Repeat x 10. There is no better magic cure for your body, your mind and your whole Central nervous system then to breathe deeply.

2. Make a phonecall to someone who makes me feel good.

This is what friends and family are for. Sadness, depression, anxiety, anger or upset are not signs of weakness, don’t be afraid to reach out to someone for a little love. I sometimes send out a little love note to my friends, the people I truly care about…by giving love, I get love (their replies).

3. Take a break from Social Media.

I’m sure you feel me on this one…there is nothing that can bring you down faster than social media ‘stalking’, ‘research; whatever you prefer to call it. All of a sudden I find myself on the guy I’m crushing’s ex girlfriends page from 3 years ago, reading comments and deciding that they must still be in love? Hmm, not quite sure that is productive for me or a potential relationship. Or, I find myself seeing numerous new ‘competitors’, or businesses of a similar nature to mine, people who I thought were friends/acquaintances to some level, using the EXACT same ingredients in their product?! Does this create a good feeling? No.

4. Listen to my self love song {on repeat} Mariah Carey; Hero. Eva Cassidy; Time after time, or True Colours.

But if we talk to ourselves at a rate of 50 words per minute, 3000 per hr (Excerpt Authentic Success)…why not get some self love, strong, inspiring words?

‘Theres a hero, if you look inside your heart, you don’t have to be afraid of what you are.

Theres an answer, if you reach into your soul and the sorrow that you know will melt away.

And then a hero comes along with the strength to carry on, and you cast your fears aside and you know you can survive, so when you feel like hope is gone, look inside you and be strong and you’ll finally see the truth that a hero lies in you.

{oh yes, love, love. And believe me when I say, Ive listened to this more times than I can remember and even reading the words creates a warm feeling in my heart}

5. Just go to the gym.

Exercise creates endorphins, your internal feel good drugs. I know sometimes I just dont feel like going…it can take me an hr to get there after pro level procrastination, but when I’m there… happiness, or just a general sense of feeling good.

6. Do something business wise I don’t really want to do.

I know the sense of achievement will boost my spirits and Ill feel a sense of pride in being able to do the work I may not want to do.

7. Write.

I still keep a journal of my inner most thoughts, including the things I have written about my dark days, the days when Ive felt on top of the world, and some  of the things I have wanted to express to people who have hurt me. Writing is expression.

8. Just go to bed.

Now the difference is learning when you really need this; rest {I suffered depression and spent days being unable to get out}, or when you are just trying to escape something.

‘Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.’ Dalai Lama

These are some of my little ‘Help me’ tools. Find what works for you. The ocean, running, surfing…create your own ‘happiness cultivation tools’ and have them on speed dial.

So, no I’m not happy all the time, but I am ok. I know that life will have its highs and its lows. I know that some people will love me, and some wont even bother to reply to a text message…and this is ok. I know that Ill have friends forever, and some for a short time. I know that in business, I will make mistakes and I will kick goals. This is all ok.

And its all good, because I’ve got my own back {and I know the universe does}.

Love & light, Charlie x.
